Referrals
A current referral from your GP or another specialist is required. Patients can upload a referral online and we will phone you to book at Doncaster East or the clinic most convenient to you. New appointments are usually available within about 3 weeks.

Before your appointment
- Your referral letter (if it has not already been sent to us)
- Medicare card and any concession or DVA card
- A list of your current medications and inhalers
- Reports or images from any chest X-ray, CT scan or previous lung function or sleep tests
- Your CPAP machine or data card if you already use one
- Our reception team will tell you if any inhalers should be paused before lung function testing
Your first visit, in three lines
- Reception phones you within two business days of receiving your referral to book — usually within about three weeks, or within 48 hours for the Rapid Access Lung Nodule / Lung Mass Clinic.
- Your first appointment is in person at Doncaster East. Allow about 40 minutes and bring your referral, Medicare card, inhalers and medicines, and any previous scans or reports.

Do I need a referral to see a respiratory physician in Doncaster East?
