Dr Cara Tanner is a respiratory and sleep medicine physician and Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP). She completed her specialist training at Northern Health and Eastern Health in Melbourne, following her medical degree (Doctor of Medicine) from the University of Melbourne and basic physician training at Austin Health and Northern Health.

Dr Tanner maintains a broad interest across all aspects of respiratory and sleep medicine, with experience in managing in chronic airways disease, interstitial lung disease, lung cancer, and complex respiratory and non-respiratory sleep disorders.

She is dedicated to providing high-quality, evidence-based care to her patients. She maintains an ongoing affiliation with Eastern Health, where she is actively involved in clinical research focused on lung cancer screening, and respiratory and non-respiratory sleep disorders.

Dr Tanner is committed to providing patient-centred care, with a focus on personalised treatment plans developed through open communication and shared decision-making. She values empowering patients by enhancing their understanding of their condition and treatment options, while always respecting their individual needs and preferences.

She is a member of the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand (TSANZ), the European Respiratory Society (ERS), and the Australasian Sleep Association (ASA).
