Dr Benjamin Leaver is a Respiratory and Sleep physician currently consulting at
Sleep and Lung Care in Brunswick. In addition, he works as a General Physician for
Northern Health and is an Honorary Respiratory Physician for the Royal Melbourne
Hospital.
 
Benjamin completed his basic training at the Austin Hospital followed by his specialty
training in respiratory and sleep medicine through the Royal Melbourne Hospital and
St Vincent’s Hospital. He was subsequently awarded fellowship with the Royal Australian College of Physicians (FRACP).
 
Additionally, he is a member of the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand (TSANZ), the European Respiratory Society (ERS) and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM).
 
Dr Benjamin Leaver is interested and experienced in managing all respiratory and
sleep conditions with special interest in the management of asthma, pulmonary hypertension, the investigation of lung nodules and management of sleep apnoea.
 
Benjamin has ongoing research appointments with a background investigating lesser
known respiratory viruses and their impact on health and disease, and in asthma and
COPD and the impact of the environment on these conditions.
 
Outside of clinical medicine, Benjamin can often be found cycling around Victoria
and beyond, with a personal interest in competitive sports and physiology; he is
always happy to talk about all things bikes.
